Varnish Nails

One of my new favorite nail salons is Varnish Nails (it just reopened in Beverly Hills; it used to be on Melrose).

What a fun place! The nail salon is upstairs from a really great boutique, Nicola Bertti (pic below). They also have their own brand of nail polish in fab colors. I got a great coral color this visit-right in time for the summer weather we are having this weekend!They are having a special until June:$25 for a mani-pedi, which is a steal for Beverly Hills.

Hats

I watched Easter Parade over the weekend and was envious of all the women wearing their Easter bonnets. I looooove hats. I wish people wore them more. I wish I wore them more. My favorite hats are by Eugenia Kim. They are fabulous.

Breakfast

My favorite place for a low-key breakfast in LA is Theresa's in Burbank. It's a family restaurant that makes you feel like you're at a diner in a small town instead of a large, sprawling city. The staff is very attentive and friendly and they always have flyers for local goings-on. I always get the "spa omelet" (egg whites, mushroom, broccoli, tomatoes, zucchini, and avocado-I hold the onions) with wheat toast and fruit.

So I signed up for Goodreads a few days ago. I recommend this for other bookworms out there. You can keep track of what books you've read in the past and your favorite quotes and keep a "to read" list (no more lists and post-its!). You also have the ability to review books you've read and receive recommendations from other members. Don't know anyone who would like to start a book club? Join one on Goodreads! The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Speidi

Yes, our favorite guilty pleasure is back for what might be its final season (we'll see). The season premiere is tonight at 10pm on MTV. I'm probably going to record it and watch tomorrow. Let me know if it's any good!
