Cardiff-by-the-Sea

Last weekend G. and I went to Cardiff-by-the-Sea which is a small beach town near San Diego. We also drove around other towns in the area. So cute! It was recommended to us by a friend of my cousin's and we loved it. I def. want to go back to go surfing!
My camera's battery died so I had to take pics on my backup throw-away camera so I'll post those later...

Boys

So I'm all about the "boyfriend" inspired looks this year...but I'm convinced they look awful on me. I just got this blazer in the mail and it could be cute on (it's totally cute on the hanger!)....it's supposed to be over-sized, but it might be too big regardless. I might try it this weekend and if it doesn't work, back it goes!

BTW...speaking of boys...I saw plenty of them trying to get a glimpse of Megan Fox today in Westwood by the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie premiere. I was excited to see the "life-size" Transformer. :) I was going to hang out for the Linkin Park concert, but I was too impatient.

Self-restraint!

I went to the mall today to make a return and I did not buy ANYTHING!

I ignored:

The 30% off Coach sale at Macy's.The 60% off sale at American Eagle.

And the 70% closing sale on furniture at Mervyn's. Amongst others! My budget is very happy with me today. Yea!

Attitude

I need to change mine!

Up!

G. and I had the perfect weeknight date. We went to see Up at the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. This is a must-see movie! It was our first time at this theater and we loved it. We decided to opt for the V.I.P. seats so we sat middle-first row of the balcony. :) The interior is totally Old Hollywood. As you take your seats, there is a live organist (just like the old days!) followed by a pre-show. The movie was shown in 3D so we cuddled up with our goofy glasses on. (Note: bring tissues!) Up isn't just for kids...it's funny and very romantic. We both thought it was one of the best movies in years-a new favorite!

Then we walked home, which we almost never get to do anymore. I adore nights like these!

Tick Tock

I love a chunky watch. My fav summer watch so far is this one by Michael Kors.

I also like it in black for the other seasons. ;)It seems like everyone has recently done a "watch" post, but I don't care. I wanted to share anyways!

XOXO

Dinner and the Theater

Yesterday, I caught The Terminator matinee show in Burbank with G. before heading to Theresa's for my spa omelet. Later, we went to NoHo for dinner before seeing Tracing Sonny at the Avery Schreiber Theatre on Magnolia. We decided to try Spumante, an Italian restaurant across the street from the theater. We loved it! It has the perfect old school Italian atmosphere-fabulous customer service (I had forgotten it could be so good) and delicious, fresh food. This will probably become a regular spot for us. I think it's a great place to go with friends or on a date. In addition to its close proximity to a couple theaters, it's also near a few vintage clothing shops. I really enjoyed everything about it, including the orginal artwork on the walls!
After dinner, I headed over to the show. If you're in the mood to laugh and cry, definitely check out Tracing Sonny which runs for the next few weekends. It's a small, but well done production. I highly recommend it for it's great acting and well-told story of the ups and downs of a relationship. I'm going to see it again so I'll most likely go into more detail then. Meals with a View

I'm looooove eating by a beautiful view! Last night G. and I went out to eat (which was nice b/c we've been cooking in a lot lately). We went to The Castaway in Burbank. I'd really like to go back for brunch one weekend.

Malibu

It's a little late for a weekend wrap-up, but better late than never! It was a little too chilly this weekend to lay out at the beach, but G. and I went anyways to walk around. We thought this pelican was hysterical! Later, we stopped by Duke's for Mai Tais and appetizers.

I also relaxed with a glass of lemonade and finished The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. A few tears were shed! I also FINALLY got to see Funny Face. (I've been trying to see every Audrey Hepburn movie).

I'm sure some of you watched the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night along with The Hills season finale, which I saw last night. So sad to see LC gone, but hopefully she'll make a cameo. What do you think about Kristin joining the cast?

I hope everyone is having a good week so far! XOXO.

P.S. Here's a pic of the pizza from Friday night. It was soooo good! (Olives, portabella mushrooms, crimini and white mushrooms, asparagus, and artichoke.)
