Sigh

I've had an awful day. Not life-changing awful...but you know those unfortunate events that only happen once in a long while? Like your house floods, or your car gets broken into, or you get in an argument at the office. Anyway, without getting into detail I had a few things like that happen all in one day. I'm lucky nothing was serious, but I want to shake that "argh!" feeling.

I think a cup of tea and this Catherine Malandrino dress would be just what the doctor ordered!

I hope you lovelies all had a better day!

SAG Awards

I'm always excited for the SAG Awards because I have the privilege to vote. It's always nice to see the celebration of great performances and I was happy that many of my choices won this evening. As far as fashion is concerned, these were my favorites on the red carpet:

Christina always looks elegant and gorgeous.

As you know, I love emerald! Go Lea!

Another color I adore.

And It All Begins...

This year began with so much promise and possibility. There just seems so much to be excited about... big events like moving into a new place (I move in 2 weeks!) to the little things like seeing The Lovely Bones, A Single Man, the new season of 24, and new shows like Parenthood, Life Unexpected, and Human Target. We get to find out which gal Jake picks. My goodreads "to read" list is almost 80! And let's not forget the Winter Olympics and Red Carpet/Award show season!

Speaking of the latter, did anyone catch the Golden Globes last night? Almost all my picks won awards. As for the fashion side, these were my favorites:

Penelope Cruz in Giorgio Armani Prive
Courteney Cox in Victoria Beckham Collection

Normally I gravitate toward color, but last night these black numbers were my stand-outs!

Favorite quote of the night: "I've in my long career played so many extraordinary women that basically I'm getting mistaken for one and... I'm very clear about the fact that I'm a vessel for other people's stories and other women's lives."- Meryl Streep

Whoa, Heidi

Dear Fellow Watchers-of-The-Hills:

Can you believe the news about Heidi? 10 plastic surgeries in 1 day? I guess you can see the pictures and read the full story in People on Friday. While I certainly don't judge her for having all that work done, I really wish she would lay off for medical reasons! It just seems like a lot to put your body through-and high risk. She is beautiful as is in my opinion.

One report on the radio said that she had the surgeries in order to perfect her look before her album drops. I heard some samples of the tracks from the self-produced album this morning. I think it sounds like anything else these days-not in a bad way. It's like dance music/over-produced pop. Has anyone else heard any of the songs?

I totally went on a tangent, but my point is finally here.....I think it's great that she's making things happen for herself. Producing your own album is definitely taking control of your career which I admire!

Have a good day!

I am totally obsessed with Rebecca Minkoff's designs. I feel like she makes everything with me in mind which sounds egocentric, but that's how much I like them! These are some of my current favorites:Supernova Studded Rocker Crossbody...$330 Lovespell...$295

Love Letter Satchel...$495

Lovenote Clutch Suede...$295

Another Holiday Season Come and Gone...

Well I finally finished unpacking and uploading my pictures from my New England Christmas! (Many from my good ol' camera phone.) One of my first nights home, my sister and I went to Bar Louie at Patriot Place for drinks. A charming young man presented her with his business card with this on the back...lucky girl! :)
We also had time to squeeze in a mini-bar tour downtown, which included Elephant & Castle, The Bell- in-Hand, Ned Devine's, and The Living Room. I adore Faneuil Hall even if it is a little touristy.
G. had the chance to go ice skating at Fenway Park before the NHL classic. I saw these tracks on my parents' front yard. What do you think...rabbit or alien maybe??? :)New England neighborhood at dusk.It was a really fun, action-packed trip filled with my favorite people, fantastic food and fabulous martinis. I can't wait to go back when the weather is better!

Another Year...

These are a few photos from 2009 of things that made me happy. It's so easy to feel down after the holidays, but there is so much to look forward to! I really believe this year is going to be amazing!

I'm back!

Wow....I've never been away from my blog for so long! :) I planned on doing a few posts while back in New England, but obviously it didn't work out that way. I'll be doing a holiday wrap up, but first another Kate Hudson red carpet moment (2003 Academy Awards)! InStyle is doing a best dresses of the decade feature on their website. This Versace stunner would be a beautiful wedding gown as well!
