Another Superbowl Come and Gone...

My team wasn't in the Superbowl this year; but, I know that many are feeling either the nauseous disappointment or the pulsating euphoria that I know too well. I was very disappointed by the commercials although I did enjoy "Power of the Crunch"-one of the finalists of the Doritos contest-and I relate way too much to the careerbuilder ad haha. Did anyone catch The Office afterward? I'm going to watch it later.

Well, tomorrow is Monday and if you think there's nothing to look forward to:

Watch. All new episodes of Gossip Girl. One Tree Hill. The Bachelor. The City....the choices!!!!!! OR...

Read. He's Just Not That Into You or Confessions of a Shopaholic and get caught up before the movies open on 2/6 and 2/13!

Take the night to relax, unwind, and gear up for the weekend ahead.

Ahhh.....

Do get a massage! I spent my Saturday morning relaxing at the Massage Therapy Center Day Spa in West LA. I loved the lounge! You can enjoy a eucalyptus steam and shower before or after your treatment. Plus, free parking is available which is a treat in LA.

And there's just something about those spa robes that make you feel soooooo ahhhhh......

Do
check out the sales at your local mall. Later that afternoon, I stepped out feeling refreshed for a little shopping. I got a cute sweater at Ann T Loft. They were having 50% off sale items. I also purchased a couple of the super-soft long sleeved Ts from the Gap (2/$30). I love how cozy they feel! If you need any short-sleeved Ts, they had a sale 3/$25. It's always nice to find things that are within your budget.

I also got some pillow mist from BBW in the lavender chamomile scent. It's supposed to help you sleep. I'll let you know how it works.

SAG Awards.....

So the SAG Awards are on tonight. Did anyone watch them? I loved January Jones' dress!!!

Dinner and Drinks....

Saturday night I went out to Luna Park in LA for dinner and drinks with Cait. We split an artichoke appetizer and I had the butternut squash mushroom risotto for an entree. So good! We were chatting about Paris and decided to get late night crepes at Solar de Cahuenga in Hollywood (they are open til 1am). The crepes are great here and there is a wide variety of options on the menu.

Part of the fun of the evening was debuting my new fuschia tights, booties that my sister Jill gave me for xmas, and the vintage handbag that I got from Brianne.

I'm back.....

So it's been awhile since my last post. I spent a few weeks in Boston. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do much because of the weather.

However, I did get to go vintage shopping with Brianne. I found a really cute dress and handbag (pictured) at Cafe Society in Brookline.

Speaking of vintage, Brianne got me the cutest vintage travel case and scarf (also pictured).

After New Year's Day, my bf and I headed to San Francisco via LA. We took the I-5 instead of taking the coastal route (it's faster) and I was pleasantly surprised by the scenery. Check out the rainbow!

I haven't been up to too much since as work has been very busy. BUT...I did get a chance to and highly recommend that you also...

See Bride Wars which is a really fun and light. Perfect for a Sunday night with the girls.
Eat at Magnolia on Sunset in Hollywood. It's great for dinner and/or drinks before or after catching a movie at the ArcLight. The blueberry lemondrop is fantastic.
Go to Venice and lay on the beach, ride a bike, or walk along the canals. It makes me want to go back to Italy!

Well that's all for now. XOXO-L

Packing...

Many of us are packing our bags and are off to see family and friends for the holidays. A couple of friendly reminders:

Do pack weather appropriate clothing. I'm heading to Boston so I'll bring my Uggs for warmth, my galoshes for the rain and sleet, and mittens!

Do pack so you are comfortable in the plane, train, or automobile. :) Bring a pashmina to double as a blanket if needed. I also recommend sudafed, the latest Lucky and/or a copy of Twilight :) , iPod, DVD player (with DVDs of SATC seasons of course!), and a neck pillow.

Don't forget to put a personal touch on your luggage so you can spot your bag quickly! I often tie a red ribbon on my suitcase.

I also LOVE my sophiesphilosophies luggage tag (www.sophiesphilosophies.com).

If you're sick of regular black luggage, you can opt for a fun print or perhaps a vintage suitcase. My friend, Brianne, found this adorable suitcase.

Do
leave early so you're not stressed!

Well, I'm off to finish packing. I hope you all have a safe trip wherever your holiday season takes you! XOXO.

San Diego

I went to San Diego and La Jolla last Saturday. If traffic behaves itself, it's possible to make the trip in a little over 90 min. I definitely did not see as much as I would've liked, but I had a blast.

First I hung out at the pool with my friends at the Hyatt La Jolla. I relaxed in the hot tub and went swimming (the temperatures are mild at this time of year...it's comfortable enough to swim in a heated pool...I was glad to have my Uggs handy once I got out :) ).

After an afternoon of kicking back, we took a drive through San Diego. The hills are amazing...the homes twinkle like stars! Gorgeous. Then we stopped to have a drink at a beachy New Zealand-themed bar named Bare Back Grille. It's a block from the water on Mission Blvd. I really liked the atmosphere-it was a fun place to try a new beer.

Next, I had dinner back in La Jolla at The Melting Pot. It was my first time having fondue (I know! Right?! I'm a little behind.). I'm not a fan, BUT the dessert was awesome. How could it not be? Check out the pic. I will definitely be back....

As you can see, I didn't do much sight-seeing. However, it was the perfect day trip and much recommended if you're checking out So-Cal!
